It still feels like I can remember every single detail of my pregnancy, labor, and delivery, which is a good thing. I am so thankful that, while I am sure that some of the details are not as vivid as others, I can still feel and see everything about that wonderful. special time. On her birthdays, I love to re-live it all, and she loves to hear about it.
This year, I took a half day off to have a girl date with Summer. I took her out to lunch, to get her first manicure and pedicure, and shopping. We had so much fun.
For her birthday dinner, she requested that Papa make her Chicken Fried Rice, and for dessert, she wanted Angel Food Cupcakes. We were both happy to fulfill her requests.
We had such a special day with a little girls who always shines so bright. She still has such an amazing zest for life. She is funny, kind, compassionate, smart, beautiful, and simply amazing.
She is the girl that I never knew I needed until the moment I heard Sean say, “It’s a girl.” Now she is my mini-me, and I am so thankful for her every single day.
Happy Birthday, Sweet Summer Sunshine. Our lives were forever changed for the better on April 13, 2007 at 1:59 PM.
As I was looking through pictures, I had to quickly capture some of the ones of Summer. I cannot even count how many times people have told us that her name fits her. She is definitely a Summer, full of sunshine, fun, life, and love.
She fully accepts who she is, and she is very comfortable with herself. Oh, how I pray that she always keeps that quality.
This is how she walked into a faculty meeting one day. I could not help but bust out laughing.
Her energy and spunk can sometimes be exhausting, but, more often, it is something that makes us laugh and smile.
She is the little sister and the family mascot.
Sometimes she makes me realize that the four-year age difference between her and Gabriel is huge, but, more often, she keeps me young.
I have said it before, and I will say it many more times. Deciding to have three children was one of the best decisions that we have ever made because it gave our family Summer, which means that we have year-round sunshine in our lives.
Summer is a girl after my own heart. She thinks that her birthday should be celebrated for at least a week.
This year, she wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese again because she had so much fun last year.
We picked up the kids from school early on Friday, and we all went to Chuck E Cheese. Everyone had a great time!
On Saturday, Gabriel had a soccer game, and we cheered him on before having a second birthday cake when Gran arrived.
Sunday was Summer’s actual birthday, and we celebrated all day.
For breakfast, it was pancakes and fruit, to start the day off right.
Summer requested presents next.
The photo session was her birthday gift to me.
We ended the day with a third birthday cake, her favorite, angel food cake.
As I think about Summer being 7, it is unbelievable to me. She is my baby, and she is 7!
I am so proud of the young lady who she is becoming.
She is kind,
and a complete ray of sunshine.
There is never a day that I am not thankful that we decided to have just one more baby to complete our family.
