Some of my favorite people have September birthdays.
My dad’s birthday was last weekend. My daddy (yep, I still call him “daddy”) is special for many reasons. Mainly, because he chose me, and I will forever be thankful to him for that. I love you, Daddy!
My youngest niece’s birthday is in two weeks. Emma is special because she was in her momma’s belly when Gabriel was in my belly. She was born five months before Gabriel. She was 3-months old on her first Christmas, and she was a sick little baby with croup. I held her all weekend long, not caring if she got me sick, just longing for my little baby in my belly and dreaming about holding him. I did get sick…and I could not take anything to make myself feel better…but it was worth every second of holding her. I love you, Emma!
My Ethan’s birthday is next weekend. Ethan is special for some many reasons. I do not even know where to begin. Mostly, he is special because he is good and perfect in every way. He is our special gift. And, I truly mean it when I say that everyone needs an Ethan. I will dedicate a whole blog post to him on his special day. I love you to the moon and back, Ethan!
So, we celebrated September birthdays today. We were not sure if we would all be together again before the end of September, so we wanted to take the opportunity this weekend to celebrate some pretty fantastic people. My life is blessed every single day because of them.
A celebration would not be complete without special food. We had these buffalo chicken tenders and these swirled cupcakes. We ate, we laughed, we loved….we celebrated. And, it was good. It was very, very good.
